News ... Breakfast Surprise for Offchurch
Villagers in Offchurch near Leamington Spa woke up to the taste and aroma of freshly baked bread on their doorstep today, when the new landlords of The Stag’s Head pub in the village delivered an early morning surprise.
The enterprising but highly experienced young team, which has just moved into The Stag’s Head at Offchurch, were keen to make their presence known at the earliest opportunity, even if it meant getting up well before dawn!
The initiative prompted an early 4.00 a.m. start in order to fire up the ovens and freshly bake nearly 100 loaves featuring the wide range of speciality bread served at the pub. But it definitely created a first and lasting impression of the personal service levels locals can expect, as warm loaves were distributed by members of the team around the village between 7.30 a.m. – 8.00 a.m. in little brown bags, complete with jam and butter!
The goody bag also included the new menu of gastronomic delights on offer which has been created by head chef Nigel Brown, who was part of Raymond Blanc’s celebrated team which opened both Le Petit Blanc brasseries in Birmingham and Manchester. Nigel has teamed up with Charles Harris, who brings extensive restaurant and bar experience to their joint venture in Offchurch as general manager.
Together they have combined their entrepreneurial flair to celebrate the re-opening of this traditional thatched ‘chocolate box’ pub by delivering a complimentary breakfast feast to the new neighbours.
Great food, great value and a great atmosphere is what can be found at The Stag’s Head, not to mention the warm welcome, and Nigel and Charles have exciting refurbishment plans in the pipeline by creating a traditional pub in Offchurch with a real sense of belonging to the local community.
Getting the basics right from day one is their key priority, which means superb food at affordable prices, local beers and a well stocked cellar of great wines, available by the blass, 50cl pichet or bottle.
All produce is locally sourced and freshly prepared with a selection of daily specials, in addition to the seasonal menu which features a range of tempting starters from £3.50 - £4.00, mains from £7.00 - £12.00 and desserts at £4.00
